Trial Change To Public Holiday Competitions |
| Virginia Golf Club is trialing a change to its competitions on public holidays. |
| The timesheet will run from 6:30am to 12:30pm off the 1st tee. Members will be able to place their names on the timesheet as they usually do through the online booking system. Visitors and social players will also be able to book slots through the pro shop (who will then update the online booking system). Spots will be allocated on a first-in basis. |
| The benefit to members is that they now have the option of playing in the morning. This is similar to our regular Tuesday or Thursday competitions. |
| The benefit to the Club is that we can maximise our visitor revenue. At present, social players must tee off before 8am if they are to fit in 18 holes on our Championship Course. This can be a turn off to some visitors (who'd like to sleep in) and can leave lengthy periods during the day where the course is not being utilised. |
| This change will be trialed for the public holiday competition on the Queen's Birthday - Monday, June 14. The timesheet will be released on Thursday, May 20. Please note that this competition has now been changed to an open single stableford. |
