| Thrilling Finish At 2010 Mixed Foursomes Championship |

| The 2010 Mixed Foursomes Championship was decided in one of the closest finishes imaginable. In the end, it was Matt Toomey and Lyn Garred (pictured above) who took the title for the second consecutive year. They defeated Don McLauchlan and Elmay Viking on the first hole of a sudden death play-off and became the first team to defend since 2001. |
| It was the experienced Bob Watson and the in-form Nicole Coogan who posted the early clubhouse lead with 79-78-157. They then had to wait on the terrace for over an hour (admittedly with a beverage in hand) to see if their total would be good enough. |
| An enthralling battle was taking place in the day's final group. McLauchlan and Viking shot 76 in the morning to lead Toomey and Garred by a single shot. The lead changed 5 times during the afternoon round with both teams finishing on the same score of 156. Watson and Coogan missed out on the play-off by the narrowest of margins. |
| The drama continued as both teams returned to the 18th for a sudden death play-off. Toomey and Garred made a great up and down from the right mounds to secure a par. It proved to be enough after McLauchlan and Viking made bogey following a disappointing 3 putt. |
| Rounding out the top 5 gross finishers were Jeff Schwarz and Kea Schwarz (with 87-78-165) and Wally Maguire and Voni Maguire (with 91-79-170). Ian Squires and Ann Harris took out the 36 hole nett prize with a score of 141 - the only team to break their handicap over the 36 holes. |
